Jobin Roofing’s Spirit of Excellence award goes to team members who demonstrate excellence and contribute to improving our company. This award isn’t given — it’s earned, and the bar is set high. Michael earned it for his leadership, his commitment to the team, and the selflessness he showed in helping cultivate several newer estimators. He also earned it for his personal commitment to excellence — he even hired a business coach. That’s remarkable considering Michael isn’t a manager or a leader in title; in a different culture driven by scarcity and internal competition, he’d effectively be training competition that could take food off his own table.
Michael shared that he was feeling low this week. While working at his desk, he happened to look up at the award he earned, and it helped him snap to. He said the award was a reminder that anchored him to what’s true — what can’t be erased by a single event. That can be hard for big-hearted people who feel so strongly in the moment. We’re so proud of how far Michael has come, and he is well loved by all at Jobin.
